Because my sketchbook is where my artistic mind is free to wander, it is filled with boundless self-expression. It is the place where I create in a fresh, spontaneous way, unleashing the freedom of my artistic soul. I love to draw on the rich texture of handmade paper. I use only pen, no eraser, which creates a flow and ease of ideas without the pressure for perfection. Hand-lettering is a staple of my sketching style and is a natural talent that I have always nurtured and honed. As a child, I tried to make my writing look just like the typewriter or typefaces I would see on packaging. Words as integral parts of visual art are exciting to me, so my sketchbook is the perfect place to explore that passion.
